Common side effects observed while medicating with Zidovudine are vomiting, nausea, headache, loss of appetite or trouble sleeping may occur. Inform your doctor if these conditions persist or get worse. There are some serious side effects involved with this medicine which must be informed to the doctor right away if observed such as mental/mood changes (depression, anxiety, confusion), easy bruising/bleeding, skin/fingernail color changes, loss of body fat (in the face, arms, legs, and buttocks) may occur. There are also some severe allergic reaction involved with this medicine which require immediate medical attention if observed such as unexplained weight loss, severe tiredness, muscle aches/weakness that doesn't go away, headache that are severe or don't go away, joint pain, numbness/tingling of the hands/feet/arms/legs, vision changes, signs of infection (such as fever, chills, swollen lymph nodes, trouble sleeping, non-healing skin sores), nervousness, heat intolerance, fast/pounding/irregular heartbeat, unusual growth in the neck/thyroid known as a goiter, swallowing/moving your eyes, drooping face, paralysis, trouble speaking, rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), seizures, severe dizziness etc
